Prime of Life Senior Adult Relocation Representation Services
Our Mission
"We turn out older with years but newer every day."
– Emily Dickinson
Our mission is to fully represent senior adults with their best interest as our priority in what we believe can be one of the most important transactions if not the MOST IMPORTANT transition in a senior adult’s lifetime.
You may be asking, what is Senior Adult Relocation Representation?
Throughout our lifetimes most of us have the need for representation by using the skill and knowledge of a realtor or property manager. However, hundreds of thousands of senior adults are moving into independent retirement, assisted living, and 24/7 skilled nursing communities every year without knowing that they can have representation. Senior Adult Relocation Representation can be vital in areas of knowledge regarding security, healthcare, healthcare benefits, finances, resident neglect and abuse, and most important vital in helping senior adults continue to enjoy the best quality and fulfilled life possible.
Prime of Life Senior Adults Relocation Services work with and directly for the client during the time of transition to be sure their best interest are put first AT ALL TIMES. The process begins with a one on one consultation and review of The Prime of Life Needs and Assessment Evaluation and continues well after the transition or move is complete.

Why Senior Adult Relocation will be so important to me
"To know how to grow old is the master work of wisdom, and one of the most difficult chapters in the great art of living."
– Henri Frederic Amiel
In 2000, there were an estimated 35 million people age 65 or older in the United States. By 2011 the “baby boom” generation will begin to turn 65, and by 2030 it is projected that one in five people will be age 65 or older. Ten to 12.9 percent of the total United States senior adult population presently reside in Texas as of 2005*.
The need for senior adult housing and healthcare is great, and will grow greater each year. As the need increases the development of new senior adult communities will increase. Many communities are professionally managed. However, many leave little to be desired! Prime of Life Senior Adult Relocation Representation Services specializes in performing up to date evaluations of all local senior adult communities to insure that the best interest of our clients are being met. Making the best and most appropriate choice in relocation is vital. Unfortunately, the wrong choice can sometimes be very costly, can cause great unhappiness, and can even be catastrophic.

Independent Living Communities
Are designed specifically for independent senior adults who desire to continue an active lifestyle around retirement filled with recreational, educational, and social activities. However, the need for representation is great when selecting this type of community. Most are NOT licensed by state, local, or federal agencies. There is little or no regulation, and the rules are normally set and governed by the management company or companies providing the services. Private funds are most often used. Medicare and Medicaid do not cover payment in these communities. It is crucial for representation to insure the negotiations produce the BEST value for the retirement dollars spent.

Assisted Living
This arrangement is designed for people who cannot live on their own but do not need a skilled nursing community. This type of senior community is a relatively new senior adult housing concept. Therefore, representation is vital with the communities because these communities usually provide less staff than skilled nursing communities and are licensed by state and local agencies.
These communities should be following strict guidelines set forth by these agencies in regard to the services they provide such as activities of daily living (i.e., bathing, dressing, housekeeping), medications and meals. Most are privately owned “FOR PROFIT” communities. Thus, the need for representation is crucial to insure that the senior adult is receiving the BEST value and CARE for the dollars spent.

Skilled Nursing Communities
Should be like homes, but homes that also provide meals, skilled nursing, rehabilitation, medical services, personal care, and recreation in a supervised and protected setting. Representation is vital for the selection of these communities. Abuse and neglect are prevalent in these communities. Thirty percent of nursing homes have been cited by the state inspectors for violations that “harmed residents or placed them in immediate jeopardy.”
These communities are licensed by state, local, federal, Medicare, and Medicaid agencies. However, the guidelines are not always adhered to. Poor choices in the selection of skilled nursing communities can be deadly. The latest national compilation of 500,000 nursing home deaths list starvation, dehydration, or bedsores as the cause on 4,138 death certificates. *Over sixty-six percent of skilled nursing communities in the United States are “FOR PROFIT” and the average skilled nursing cost has risen an average of 9.7% a year since 1984. Representation is crucial to insure the senior adult the BEST care, value, and quality of life for the dollars spent.

A Personal Note
Thomas Edison once said, “I am long on ideas but short on time. I expect to live to be only about a hundred.” Yes, as time goes by it seems to go faster. However, how wonderful it is that more senior adults are living to be a hundred or more. I believe it is not the quantity but the quality of our days that makes the difference. The knowledge, wisdom, and positive influence of senior adults have greatly impacted my life. Thus, a deep respect and honor for senior adults comes from my heart.
The goal for myself and Prime of Life Senior Adult Relocation Representation Services is to enable senior adults to continue to live and enjoy life even when a move is desired or necessary with the confidence that the right choice has been made. I look forward to working with you and / or your loved one so together we can know without a doubt that the senior adult years can be the happiest, best, and even most productive years of life with the anticipation that the BEST IS YET TO COME!
